We had a busy first day of volunteer gardening Thursday morning in the light rain. Thank you, Nadine and Bonnie, for coming out and to Walther, who visited for a short while too.

Bonnie and Jennifer weeded the Novitiate Garden under the verandah and Nadine worked on the bed across from the garage.

During tea break, we caught up with the goings on with each other and those of St Ann's (volunteer luncheon). We also discussed all the tasks that can be tackled this year in the garden...there is a long list!

The highlights in the gardens here are the Fritillaria Imperialis (yellow and orange flowers) which are blooming. People ask about and the Magnolia which is in full and glorious bloom right now too. Daffodils line the main entrance and the buds on the Rhododendrons are swelling. The pear trees will be in bloom soon.
