This week Jennifer, Bonny, Maureen, Maggy, Adele, Helvanna, Florentina, and Walther came out to work in the gardens.

Thank you for your great help, ideas and inspiration. Crystal made yummy snacks with the fresh produce from the garden for our break time, thank you!

Bonny weeded and cleaned in the Novitiate garden, Maureen planted over 50 cyclamen bulbs behind the Summerhouse to add lovely winter colour. Jennifer worked under the bay trees removing all of the alstroemeria which is invasive and is growing through the bed there; this is in preparation for re-planting with better materials for more colour throughout the year. Helvanna and Adele continued their work cleaning out behind the shrubs and trees on the Summerhouse side of the Novitiate Garden, they are almost done! Walther weeded and watered the vegetable beds, Florentina weeded and deadheaded the bed across from the garage and it looks so much tidier now. Maggy deadheaded the front beds and stepped into to do the bouquets this week and the look lovely!

This week we tasted the first ripe tomatoes from the gardens here and they are sweet and tasty! 'Enchantment' and 'Balcony Charm' tomatoes are leading the way in being ready first. We have been harvesting a lot of beans the last few weeks along with summer turnips, beets, cucumbers, swiss chard, numerous herbs, and other greens. The bees are always busy with all the flowers on this site.
