Thursday morning was our first Volunteer Gardening session of 2019. It was a beautiful morning to work in the gardens Everyone was enthusiastic and we were happy to see each other and hear about what everyone was doing over the winter.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all rolled into one festive season. May you be with family and friends enjoying some down time and the New Year be filled with fun and lightness in your hearts.
● We met 31 Thursday mornings from March 31 to October 26.
● Approximately 660 hours of work was done on those Thursday mornings.
● 19 different garden areas taken care of on the site.
● 585 winter and summer bedding plants installed
● Approximately 3 gorgeous bouquets made each week from flowers and foliage grown on the site by Jan since she has joined the garden volunteer group.
● 223 bulbs planted with many more moved around to new places
● 75 Cyclamen planted behind the back of the summerhouse.
● Vegetables and herbs sold inside the building raised $330.30 for charity
● Thousands and millions of weed pulled
● Hundreds of wheelbarrow loads of weeds, trimmings and other garden waste disposed of.
● Countless smiles, laughs and questions and answers.
Thursday was our last garden volunteer day of the year and luckily for us the rain did not make an appearance in the morning. Thank-you Bonny, Margret, Walther, Maggy, Jan, Helvana, Adele and the Langford Day Program for coming out and enjoying the final morning in the garden.
Thursday morning we all came out to work in the gardens and enjoy the sunny day. Thank-you Maureen, Bonnie, Walther, Maggy, Jan, Helena, Florentina and Adele and the Langford Day Center group for making this garden special and for all your contributions of work, ideas, great conversation and special friendships!
Gardening has been disrupted by the filming going on at St Ann's this week. Parking on site was not available for the volunteers and we did not want them to have to pay (if they could find a space)!
Thursday's garden volunteers got down to business as they had many tasks to do.

This week Jennifer, Bonny, Maureen, Maggy, Adele, Helvanna, Florentina, and Walther came out to work in the gardens.
Thursday morning was a delight to work in the gardens as the smoke had cleared along with the extreme heat of earlier in the week.
This week’s garden crew consisted of Walter, Jan(and Tia), Maggy, Margret, Maureen, Bonnie, Adele, Helvana, and Florentina. Mark was the acting site manager today.
Thursday morning we had a great crew come out to work in the garden. We also welcomed new volunteer Emma to our group.
Thursday morning Jennifer, Walter Bonnie, Adele, Margret, Jan, Florence, and Helvana came to work in the gardens. They all enjoyed the cooler weather and hope there will be some rain....Their rain dance hasn’t worked yet!
This week was another busy and hot week in the gardens. Thank you, Adele, Nadine Walther Bonnie, Jan, Maureen, Margret, Jennifer, and Anna, for helping make the gardens look beautiful.

Thursday morning there was a long list of tasks to get done and the garden volunteers got right to it.
This week garden volunteers cleaned areas that are often left until last on the list.
