The friends society honour, celebrate, and promote the historical, social, cultural, and spiritual values of the Sisters of St. Ann at St. Ann’s Academy, Victoria.

We strive to contribute toward a more just, sustainable, healthy, and educated society.

What We Do

An active non-profit organisation providing education and outreach activities to support the local community.

Formed by a small group of St. Ann’s Academy Alumnae, Sisters and archivists in 1996, SFSAA was granted registered Charitable Status on October 1, 1998.


In The Last 12 Months…

PARTICIPANTs attended leadership conference

The 3-day event provided ample opportunities to explore gender and social inequalities of our time. The main themes of the conference centred on efforts of reconciliation, working in the trades, participating in politics, and contributing to environmental change.

students toured st. ann’s academy

School children took advantage of the tours offered by volunteers to learn about the national heritage of St. Ann’s Academy. Visits included short presentations, art-making activities, and opportunities to tour St. Ann’s Academy Interpretive Centre and the Pioneer School House situated at the Royal BC Museum.

volunteer hours spent MAINTAINING the grounds and gardens

Every Thursday morning from March to October, volunteers gathered to take care of 19 different garden areas on the site. Vegetables and herbs were also grown and sold raising just over $330 for charity.
